XYZprinting Da Vinci 3D Printer | I don't normally write reviews on anything I purchase, but I am so impressed with this printer. This is my first 3D printer, as I was waiting for one that did not require all the tinkering to get it working. Well this is it. I received it today at 4:30 and I was printing my first item within half an hour. So far I have printed six items and they have all turned out really good. I am still messing with the setting to see what works best. If you are looking to get a 3D printer that is plug and play, this is it.

Follow up after two day's of use.

I have now had this for two day's and can't stop printing. I love this printer. I had a couple of question for there tech support yesterday. I emailed them at 2:35pm and had a reply back by 3:00pm. They gave me the answer to my questions and said that if I have any problems to send them my phone number and they would give me a call. So far there customer service has been great.

I received this XYZ Printer yesterday, and immediately unboxed it. From the start, everything is very simple and straightforward. It ships with a couple of cleaning items (wire brush, cleaning wire, part removal 'spatula') and of course the software disk, power and USB cables, etc. It was very easy to unpack, and set up on the desk.

I loaded the printer and the drivers (Windows 8 users should follow the guide on the XYZ website for Win8 driver install, as it requires a couple extra steps). Once powered up, I printed the 'demo' part from the printers LCD menu while finishing the software install on the PC. The birdbath demo piece came out great!

From there, I tried my first design. Despite not knowing the ins-and-outs of all the settings, I loaded up my model, selected a medium resolution, density, speed, etc and printed away. I must say, while my model itself had some problems, the fit and accuracy were VERY impressive to me.

Next, I moved on to a flat 'washer' model to test the accuracy a little more. However, the printer seemed to have some problems with making clean circles when printing this model, thus there was an egg-shape in the inside diameter of the washer. I will have to test some settings later to see about resolving that, but I do feel (based on how nice the first two model printed) that I will be able to resolve that with selecting more appropriate setting for the geometry.

I was hesitant about this unit due to the proprietary filament cartridges. I hate being restricted on options with consumables. But I must admit, it has a really nice feature of telling you approx. how much filament is required for a print, and how much you have remaining in the cartridge, followed by a confirmation if you want to proceed. For the minor additional cost of the XYZ filament, I like this ability to give me a heads up on the material.

Pros:
- Simple simple simple!
- Enclosed work space
- Reasonable speed and resolution.
- Not very loud.
- The price vs build volume.

Cons:
- Filament cartridges are a little more costly than standard spools.
